Handknitless No Longer

Several weeks ago, we visited Ithaca and we stopped by my favorite yarn shop, Knitting Etc. Olivia picked out her color which was then promptly overruled by me. A few short weeks later, a cardigan was born*.
* Actually, the real story is I knit the sample (pictured) for the Wee Austin in the weeks leading up to Rhinebeck, but the resulting garment (in Tart!) was slated for a friend’s new baby. I re-knit the cardigan in a bigger size in the Cousteau colorway (a gorgeous seaglass blue) for Olivia.

I love the cardigan! And that’s certainly an adorable baby, too.

So glad she is finally properly adorned in handknits. The sweater is lovely, but not quite as sweet as the one who is wearing it.
Will we get to see the new cardi? I just worked with Cousteau a bit ago- it’s lovely.

Oh, she´s so cute, and the cardigan too. And nice to see a baby reaching out for yarn, it seems the love of yarn can start very early in life…

Hee hee! She does appear to be eyeing that orange Madeleine Tosh quite covetously. I think she would look good in just about any color, by the way.

Enjoy the days when you are allowed to overrule your daughter’s wardrobe choices! She will probably soon have strong opinions that will not always be amenable to maternal input.
I love the cardigan, and your model is beautiful!
